2. What is your inspiration?
My greatest inspiration is the human body. All bodies whether they are small and trim or large and majestic, it makes no difference. The human body is very beautiful; I can see a human figure in everything I look at. It doesn't matter if it is a spoon, or a hammer, or a lamppost, I see the human body, whether it is a hand, head, or full figure, that is the way my mind works. It just comes naturally to me to see a human figure that can be used for a shelf, or a fork, or a magazine rack. I enjoy those pieces out of my range more than anything else. The more abstract pieces are inspired by both modern culture and ancient civilizations. I think our experiences, even though we don't realize it, influence us and come through in what we create. You may not even be aware that your inspiration is something you saw many years ago; for example traveling in India or walking in the street and seeing an interesting dress of car. But possibly those things come out in a piece many years afterwards. But, I would have to say that my main inspiration is the human form.
